Summer at Mt Hotham is a time for quiet reflection, alpine flowers, bushwalking, bike riding, fishing, horse riding and a place to get away from the stress of your working time.

The Marouka lodge is open throughout the summer and autumn this year so why not book in for a relaxing few days holiday.

Alpine wild flowers: Hotham and surrounding mountains are carpeted with flowers in the summer. December to mid February is the best time. The top of Littly Higgy (just 300 metres behind the lodge) is a good place to start and has spectacular views.

The variety of flowers and alpine plants is a key feature of all of the bush walks around Hotham too.

Bushwalks: There are endless places to walk around Hotham. Mt Feathertop and Mt Loch and the Blue Rag Range are obvious mountains to strive for while most of the cross country ski tours around Hotham also make good summer walks.

Alternatively have a stroll around Dinner Plain to see the the unique architecture there and finish with lunch at the pub (its a tough life in the mountains).

Tennis: Tennis courts are available at Dinner Plain.

Horse riding: Trails rides based at Dinner Plain provide a great way to see the sub-alpine scenery.
