Booking and Cancellation Rules
Before you make your booking, here are a few things you should know!
Sleeping bags are not permitted in Marouka Lodge under any circumstances. Doonas and pillows are provided for you. Please bring your own bottom sheet, pillowcases and either a top sheet or a doona cover. Please bring your own towels.
There are eight bedrooms in our lodge. Most rooms are booked whole and require a minimum guest party size of two. All bookings are paid by individual bed-night. Booking either of the more intimate loft rooms 7 and 8 carries a 25% premium. Also, the largest rooms 3 and 4 carry a 25% premium if booked by a party of 3 or fewer guests. If any bed remains unoccupied in your room, the Lodge Manager may ask you during a peak period to make it available to another guest. Therefore, please book the most appropriate rooms for your guest party.
Rooms 2 and 5 are booked by bed. Choose one of these rooms if you are visiting solo, if the eventual size of your party cannot be determined in advance, or you want members of your party to book and pay individually.
Marouka is a club lodge with shared facilities. Prepare your own meals in the communal kitchen—each room has a cupboard for storing food. Two refridgerators are provided—there's a permanent marker to label your items so there is no confusion! You are expected to clean up after yourself in the kitchen and eating area, and we hope that you will leave your room as you found it!
We also request that you pitch in with a vacuum cleaner or other task at the end of your stay--see the suggestions on the back of your bedroom door.
Our Booking Officer is a volunteer. You can make her life infinitely easier if you book and pay online. We've just installed a brand-new online booking system, with secure online credit card payment via PayPal. We've tried to make it simple for you to do. If you book and pay online, your booking is immediately confirmed!
If you are a Foundation or Associate Member of Marouka Lodge, make sure you remember to log in to the booking system before you start! That way, many fields will be pre-filled for you! Also, member rates are only available to you if you are logged in AND your account is paid up.
When using the booking system, note that all dates refer to nights stayed at Marouka. Unlike a calender, the weekend nights shown on the booking grid are Friday and Saturday. Midweek nights are Sunday to Thursday, which are offered at a discounted rate. Also remember that off-peak season rates are set at about 40% discount--check your dates.
Each booking is for a particular number of beds over a continuous number of days. If you have party members coming or going during your whole stay, then you will need to make separate bookings for each of those intermediate periods, to avoid paying for unused beds.
Snow Guarantee - if the lift company stops its operations due to lack of snow, Marouka's rates will drop to summer rates even if you are already at Marouka. You will be refunded the difference.

During summer use, the Summer Manager, Foundation member or Senior Associate must be present. A minimum opening fee of $15 per night applies if a Lodge Manager is not in attendance. Exclusive use of Marouka during the summer season (except Christmas to New Year) can be arranged with the Booking Officer at a cost of $250 per night or $350 per night on a long weekend.
